Buttery Shortbread

Recipe Ingredients:
2 lbs. unbleached flour
1 lb. confectioners sugar
1/4 teaspoon Pure Almond extract
1/2 teaspoon Pure Vanilla extract
3 sticks (3/4 lb.) sweet butter, room temperature
Pinch of salt
Granulated sugar for dusting

Mix the flour and sugar using a whisk or sift. Add other ingredients and mix until just combined. Spread in an ungreased 13 x 8 baking pan. Using a fork prick the shortbread all over. Sprinkle with the granulated sugar. Bake 350F degrees for 30 minutes or until lightly browned. Cut square pieces with a sharp knife a few minutes after removing from oven. Allow to cool completely. Store in a container with a tight lid in the refrigerator.
